On a slightly cloudy, yet pleasantly mild Saturday morning, we arrived at Broborg, Sweden the largest ancient hillfort in Uppland, to hold a Victory Blót. Several members of the blót kindred were already there, and more people trickled in as we set up the table. Both new participants and old – all equally welcome! Some had even traveled for hours just to join us in the blót. What I find especially joyful is the diversity we now have at our blóts. People of different ages and backgrounds, yet we all share the same passion – our Old Norse faith!
Pontus blew the horn and 15 of us stood in the ring. During the blót, we shared many positive thoughts and hopes, which we toasted to. A lone raven could be heard in the background. At the end of the blót, I took the opportunity to inform everyone of NAS/NAC’s latest achievement – that the Pope Stone is finally gone.
Offerings and stones to the harg were placed at the chosen spot, and the sun came out. We enjoyed Carina’s lemon pie and Olivia’s caramel cookies with some coffee. Sooooo delicious!
It was a fantastic ending to Ymer’s season. We’ve welcomed new trial members who bring amazing energy and spirit. The next planned Ymer blót is during Winter Nights. Until then, you’ll find us at the Summer Blót by the Rök Runestone!
Til árs ok friðar
Elise, Blót kindred leader of Ymer.
