On 24/1, the blót kindred Vergelmer held a midwinter blót out on the ice in Luleå, Sweden. The day offered intense cold, just over −20 degrees, but we took our time to ensure the day was carried through.
During the ceremony, one could feel how the cold crept into the toes, how ice formed around our beards and hair. It was like a feeling that giants from Jotunheim came to visit and then left the place, now to travel back to Utgard.
We welcomed a new face who is new to Ásatrú and has been given the honor of becoming the first in Vergelmer to perform an initiation after the blót.
