On 7/12, the blót kindred Sleipner gathered for our annual winter blót with a following feast.
Although this year’s blót unfortunately had to be canceled, the feast was carried out as planned — and what an evening it turned out to be!
This is a closed event where blót kindreds and their families are invited to meet, share knowledge, experiences, joy, and memories.
The opportunities for blót kindreds to gather on a larger scale during the year are few, which makes this evening especially valuable — a moment simply to be together, strengthen bonds, and build community.
During this year’s feast, 25 blót kindred members from five different blót kindreds participated. Even though the blót could not be held, the blót table was in place throughout the evening for those who wished to seek it out in quietness and reflection.
The evening was filled with a traditional yule feast, warmth, laughter, and fellowship that lasted late into the night.
Music and song rang out loudly and wholeheartedly, and it was clear that this is more than a gathering — it is a living community.
It is a joy to see how this event is growing and to meet all the wonderful people across the country who work for our faith.
To hear stories from different places, remember together, and see bonds of friendship strengthened — both within and between the blót kindreds — is invaluable.
Strong people build strong blót kindreds.
Strong blót kindreds build a strong NAS/NAC.
And a strong NAS/NAC creates a stable foundation for our faith to grow from.
Thank you for all the work you do — you are invaluable.
And thank you for yet another unforgettable evening together.
