On Saturday, March 28, the blót kindred Gungnir held its traditional Dísablót outdoors on Hönö. The location is a labyrinth called Tryggeberg. A beautiful place that we gladly return to. Easy to get to by both car and public transport.

The day offered us Sunna’s warming rays, and the wind stayed away despite us being on an island. There were thirteen of us in the circle and two outside. There was quite a large number of absences for various reasons. Those who could not attend physically were with us in our thoughts during the ceremony. As always, everyone is welcome at our open blóts. A couple of new faces, new to me, appeared in the circle, which is always pleasing.

The blót officiant was Lena Hildebrand Svensson, assisted by Uwe Pötter. In honor of the day, a beautiful text about the dísir, whom we honored today, was read aloud. The power and our strength were placed into our god toast, giving both ourselves and the powers extra energy. Many of those present took the opportunity to send their greetings and thoughts to our ancestors. Eir was also thanked by those who have received her help or who need her strength for loved ones. The ceremony was marked by calm, allowing time for reflection among those present. After bowls and thoughts had been shared, the ceremony was closed, and we returned to the ordinary world.

As always when the blót kindred gathers, everyone helped with setting the table and preparing the place. With joint effort, all the items were carried down to our cars. After some discussion about what we should eat, we agreed on the island’s pizzeria—yes, we went there last time as well. Despite its name, Pizzeria Pinan, their pizzas are good and no torment to eat. After both serious and amusing conversations, we parted ways and took the ferry back to the mainland for the journey home. Thank you to everyone who came and took part in our Dísablót. Next time we meet will be at the Sigrblót on April 25 at Pilane.
