On April 13th, Blót kindred Sleipner held its annual Victory Blót, a ritual where we celebrate all past and future victories.
The blót took place out in the Tinnerö Oak Landscape in Linköping, Sweden.
This day, Sunna was with us, shining and warming us with her presence.
It is a victory in itself that warmth and sunlight are now returning, bringing life to nature and its colorful splendor, with a fine green hue in all the new life beginning to bud—this time and moment is awaited by many of us.
13 people formed the circle, and Sleipner’s Blót officiant Magnus, with assistant Linda, welcomed the participants to the site and the blót.
As is tradition, the toasts were passed around the circle, and it is an honor to hear other people’s thoughts and words about the gods, as well as what is currently important in their lives.
This should be seen as something honorable and treated with reverence, both before the gods and the individuals involved.
It warms my heart to see all the people who come to our blóts, how they listen and engage like a family—how they care and are there for one another.
It is magnificent in so many ways.
A great victory that has been won by all of us—and one that hopefully hasn’t gone unnoticed—is that we have finally gotten rid of the pope stone in Old Uppsala.
A struggle many have fought for over many years.
This was raised during the blót through a heartfelt speech by the Blót officiant Magnus and was met with a resounding HAIL!
Together—and the more of us there are—the more we can do to elevate our faith and reclaim what was once ours.
To take our rightful place, without opposition, as it should have been from the beginning.
I am fully confident that together we will enjoy many more great victories—both shared and personal ones, which are just as important.
After the blót, there was a swedish fika with mingling and time for reflections and conversations among the participants.
Future plans were made, and the beautiful bonds we have woven together were tied even tighter than before.
I believe and hope that many left the blót strengthened by new energy.
Sleipner also had the honor this day of swearing in another new member to the Blót kindred.
Marcus was finally able to take his oath to the Blót kindred and step in as a full member.
A victory for him, for the Blót kindred, for NAS/NAC, and for the entire faith.
We grow together, and we are bound together—and that makes us all strong.
Hail Sleipner!
Hail NAS/NAC!
Hail Asatru!
