On Sunday, January 12, Blót Kindred Sleipner held its midwinter blót.
This year’s blót was held at Eriksberg’s rock carvings outside Norrköping, Östergötland in Sweden.
A place with a very long history where many different traces can be found, such as rock carvings from many different periods in time.
The day offered cold temperatures but wonderfully fine weather, the blót table was set and a warming fire in a fire basket was made so that there would be a possibility for warmth. The blót was performed by Emil Klangeryd with Linda Strandberg assisting.
16 braved the cold and made their way to the blót site to hold the midwinter blót. It was a nice blót where warming humor raised morale in the cold, toasts to the powers, ancestors and future plans were mixed with laughter during the nice familial blót with relatives and friends.
A fine well-lit moon kept us company over our shoulders throughout the blót and the day and it was noticed by the participants and received their reverence.
After the blót, the participants gathered to warm themselves around the fire and there was hot coffee available for those who wished.
The laughter continued in the circle formed around the fire where stories were exchanged, new and old friendships were made even stronger than they had been before.
I would like to thank all the participants who came and made our blót the wonderful experience that it was, it is important together and together that makes all this possible.
