The year 2026 is, according to the Nordic Asa-Community’s calendar, dedicated to Freya — the Vanadis, the mighty goddess of fertility, love, and seiðr.
It is the year when Freya is honored a little extra, the year when blóts, celebrations, and fellowship are colored by her power, warmth, and wisdom.
In this video, NAS National Blót Responsible Thommy V tells more about Freya, her significance in Norse mythology, her role in modern Ásatrú, and why she is the one at the center of 2026.
NAS 9-Year Cycle – The Turning of the Years According to the Nordic Asa-Community’s Calendar
The Nordic Asa-Community follows a recurring 9-year cycle in which each year is dedicated to a deity. For the coming years, it looks like this:
2026 – The Year of Freya
2027 – The Year of Njord
2028 – The Year of Skadi
2029 – The Year of Tyr
2030 – The Year of Freyr, and so on through the cycle.
Each year carries its own power and divine presence. During the course of the year, blóts are directed a little extra toward the deity to whom the year is dedicated, and the celebrations are shaped by that god’s significance and strength.
Hail Freya!
Welcome to listen, learn, share, and take part in this year’s tribute to the mighty goddess of the Vanir.
