On Saturday 7 December, the Blót Kindred Sleipner held its traditional Yule rite at the stonesettings behind Sjögestad motel in Sweden.
A place that many of us feel strongly about.
The weather was probably not entirely on our side but with marshals and some candles it was a beautiful, cosy and warm ride with both old and new friends from near and far.
We were 13 of which 2 children in the ring and one outside.
It all began with the blowing of the horn by Elvis Strandberg, and then Magnus Andersson, the Blót officiant, and Linda Strandberg, the assistant, took over.
The rite gave way to many warm and emotional toasts from all participants.
May the powers that be be with you

After the nice Yule rite, everyone headed for the table set up in Sjögestad.
Here, hot mulled wine was waiting as a welcome drink so that you could warm up. After a while of mingling, it was time to eat, the food had been prepared and it was in the usual order a traditional swedish julbord with lots to choose from.
Of course with dessert, sweets and coffee.
Good food, good company and lots of fun that lasted long into the night.
This rite and guild is a closed event and only for all the Blót Kindreds of Nordic Asa-community, it´s providing an opportunity to exchange ideas and meet members from other Blót Kindreds you may not see very often.
It’s a place where the Blót Kindreds can grow and strengthen the bonds between them.
My thought is to give something back to all of you who fix all the wonderful blót´s around our beautiful country, you are worth this evening and more.
This gathering grows in numbers every year and is a joy to be a part of.
It is noticeable that the Blót Kindreds are growing in membership and there are always some new faces at the table.
I hope this trend continues so that I will see more new faces and maybe even Blót Kindreds in the future, because as long as I have breath and strength I will continue to organise this guild for you Blót Kindreds.
To all of you who participated this year, from the bottom of my heart I thank you for coming and making this evening what it was and I hope to see you again next year at the next one.
Hail to you!
Hail NAS/NAC!
