The Disablót is one of the most well-known blóts, and like the Midwinter Blót/Yule, one of the most misunderstood.
The Disablót did not take place at the beginning of February, but during the third month, called Göja/Göje (today approximately between late February and mid-March).
When the Swedes were Christianized, the Disting/Disablót was moved to the Christian holiday Candlemas, which is at the beginning of February (now on February 2nd), and even today, the Distings Market is held.
All participants should bring an offering for the blót.
You are welcome to bring your own drinking horn or vessel. If you do not have one, disposable cups will be available.
It is good to arrive on time, at 12:45.
We will meet at the gate of Norrbottensteatern, facing Norra Hamnen, and then walk together across the ice to the blót table.
