Blót Kindred Vergelmer invites you to Dísablót in Umeå.
Disting/Disablót is mentioned by Adam of Bremen, according to him, this simply takes place in Old Uppsala in the month of Göje after the vernal equinox and all inhabitants of Svitjod (Sweden) had to participate, if they did not want to participate they had to pay a fine.
Dísablót is deeply rooted in the veneration of the dísir – a group of powerful female powers closely associated with fate, fertility, protection, and the general well-being of family and society.
The dísir are central figures in the Ásatrú. They are connected to the Norns, who determine our destinies, but also to the fylgjur. Thus, the dísir are partly honored as guardians of the ancestors who exert a profound influence over our lives.
They watch over their kin, ensure prosperity, and offer protection and guidance through both everyday and spiritual challenges.
The dísir are also associated with the valkyries and the Vanadís Freyja.
All participants should bring their blót offering.
Please bring your own drinking horn or drinking vessel; if you do not have one, disposable cups will be available.
It may be good to arrive on time, at 14:45.
We will meet at the parking area and then together continue walking to where the blót altar stands.
