The blót Kindred Gungnir invites you to Dísablót, this time held at the Tryggeberg stone labyrinth on Hönö in the Gothenburg archipelago.
The location is well suited for Dísablót with its setting and beautiful surroundings, a place filled with myths and history.
Parking is available at the church, which is just a stone’s throw from the site. Public transportation runs all the way to Tryggeberg, stop Hönö cemetery.
Dísablót is deeply rooted in the veneration of the Dísir – a group of powerful female beings closely associated with fate, fertility, protection, and the general well-being of family and society.
The Dísir are central figures in Ásatrú.
They are connected to the Norns, who determine our fates, but they are also associated with the fylgja.
Therefore, the Dísir are partly venerated as guardians of the ancestors who exert a profound influence over our lives.
They watch over their kin, ensure prosperity, and offer protection and guidance through both everyday and spiritual challenges.
The Dísir are also linked to the Valkyries and the VanaDís Freyja.
After the blót, there is an opportunity to be initiated into Ásatrú, which means renouncing one’s current faith and entering Ásatrú.
The cost of the initiation ceremony is 100 SEK, which goes to the blót kindred and its activities. If a ceremonial certificate is desired, an additional 60 SEK is charged. Payment via Swish on site is accepted.
Please bring a drinking vessel for the toasts made during the ceremony, as well as a blót offering that is biodegradable.
After the blót, we may decide to continue on to a nearby restaurant for some warming food and drink.
