Gungnir Blotlag invites you to a Disablót, this time at Vännåkra Burial Ground, Sweden, located about 1 km south of Örby Church.
The burial ground dates back to the Iron Age and consists of approximately 28 ancient remains.
Its location on a height overlooking Östra Öresjön is both beautiful and strategic. It likely served as an effective territorial marker, being visible from afar.
This ceremony is open to the public, making it an excellent opportunity for those curious to gain insight into what we do.
Disablót is deeply rooted in the veneration of the Disir´s – a group of powerful female spirits closely associated with fate, fertility, protection, and the general well-being of families and society.
The Disir´s are central figures in Asatru. They are linked to the Nornirs, who determine our fates, as well as to the fylgjur.
Thus, the Disir´s are partly revered as ancestral guardians who exert a profound influence over our lives.
They watch over their relatives, ensure prosperity, provide protection, and offer guidance through both everyday and spiritual challenges.
However, the Disir´s are also associated with the Valkyries and the Vanadis Freyja.
After the blót, there is an opportunity to be initiated into Asatru, which involves renouncing one’s current faith and stepping into Asatru.
The cost for the initiation ceremony is 100 SEK, which goes to the blót kindred and its activities. If you would like a ceremony certificate, an additional 60 SEK is required. Payment via Swish is possible on-site.
Please bring a drinking vessel for the toasts we will make during the ceremony, as well as a blót offering that is biodegradable.
Weather permitting, we will have a potluck/fika afterward. There are benches near the site.
