This ceremony is open to the public and is therefore an excellent opportunity for the curious to gain insight into what we do.
Perhaps you yourself have been within the heathen sphere for a long time and wish to meet like-minded people.
Perhaps this is something you have only recently discovered and would like to learn more about.
Nordiska Asa-samfundet and Gungnir welcome everyone with an open mind and good intentions.
The Victory Blót is the third blót that Odin established by law in Svíþjóð and takes place at the beginning of summer.
This is an important holiday that, in addition to marking the arrival of summer, also represents the pursuit of victory and success.
The Victory Blót was performed to seek divine blessings for triumph in the many challenges of the summer half-year.
However, in our modern times, our battles may not look the same as they did 1,000 years ago, and we now sacrifice based on the struggles we face and wish to overcome.
We honor and sacrifice to the divine powers during this ceremony so that they may grant us tools such as knowledge, will, and strength to win our personal battles.
The Victory Blót takes place on the third full moon after the Midwinter Blót and lasts for three days from the full moon.
About the Location:
Pilane Burial Ground is one of Sweden’s largest and most beautifully situated burial sites.The burial ground is known for its unique flora and fauna, testifying to thousands of years of land use.
What you can expect:
Depending on the holy tide, we hold blót for different reasons.
But the overall concept is the same; we honor Powers and ancestors and sacrifice to them through thoughts, toasts, and gifts.
The hope in doing so is to receive something in return.
What that may be is up to each individual.
As it is stated in Hávamál: “A gift calls for a gift in return.”
Good to know:
Nordiska Asa-samfundet is non-political, and we therefore do not accept any politically charged messages during our blót and rites.
To participate, you must swear by the god Tyr. If you are unable to do so for any reason, you may not take part in the ring.
Bring your own drinking vessel for the toasts we raise during the ceremony, as well as a blót gift that is organically biodegradable.
We offer an initiation rite on site after the completed blót.
This means that before the Powers you formally enter the Ásatrú faith.
The cost is 100 SEK and goes to the blót kondred’s activities.
If you would like a physical certificate of the performed rite, an additional 60 SEK applies.
We accept Swish.
Bring your own refreshments and we will find a place to sit down together after the blót.
