The Nordic Asa-community has several services that we offer to members and non-members alike.
We offer services such as Wedding Ceremony, Naming Ceremony, Funeral Ceremony, Counselling and help with translation of texts, names, etc. into different sets of runes.
WEDDING
Your wedding day is of course a big and important day.
It’s when you promise each other eternal love and fidelity before the gods and divines, and it’s also an incredibly beautiful start to your life together.
The couple, together with their loved ones (if they wish), may declare their love and fidelity to our Gods, Goddesses and beings with one of our Ceremony officiants.
The ceremony is planned together with the officiant who will perform the ceremony.
A ready-made ceremony is presented to the couple, with room for special requests and customisations for a more personal experience.
The couple is always the focus of the wedding, but those present are also given the opportunity to participate in the ceremony in various ways to honour the couple’s day.
We of course welcome same-sex couples.
Upon completion of the wedding, the couple can choose to have a Wedding Certificate issued by the Ceremony officiant.
The Nordic Asa-community’s wedding ceremony is for religious purposes only, and is not legally binding.

NAMING CEREMONY
Do you want to name your child? Or do you want to change your own name? Naming is more than just a ceremony, it is an ancient tradition that is equally beautiful whether the person being named is young or old.
We have two different naming ceremonies, one for children up to 16 years old and one for young people from 16 years old and adults.
Namegiving of children (under 16 years):
Is done in consultation with guardians. We have a ready-made ceremony, if the guardians wish to make the ceremony more personalised, we are of course sensitive to this. The child, parents and sponsor´s are always in focus. The guardians have chosen the location.
Namegiving of young people (from 16 years) and adults:
This is done in consultation with the person concerned. We have a ready-made ceremony, but if the person concerned wishes to personalise the ceremony, we are of course sensitive to this. The person to be named is always in focus.

FUNURAL
Everyone comes to a time when we will be reunited with our loved ones who have gone before us to the halls of our ancestors.
A funeral is not only a day to mourn the deceased, but also a day to honour and celebrate the person’s life and toast his or her achievements.
The funeral ceremony is organised in consultation with the deceased’s family. We have a ready-made ceremony. As far as possible, the wishes of the deceased should guide the choices about the upcoming funeral ceremony. For more information about the ceremony, please contact the NBR.
When the Norns choose to cut the thread of life, it is important to have all the documents for the burial ready.
The Nordic Asa-community has a document to make it easier for you to prepare and thereby make it easier for your survivors after your death.
The document is called Afterlife Last Will and Testament, document for burial and can be downloaded from the website and then printed out, then you fill in the document according to your wishes and will.
Then keep the document in a safe place and feel free to tell a loved one where it is, please also tell them how you want to be buried.

INITIATION RITE
In this rite you renounce any previous creeds and affirm your true faith, the Asatru. If you have not been baptised or have no other confession of faith, you will only proclaim your Asatru through this rite.
This rite is performed in connection with open blót´s organized by the local blót kindred, the rite as such is relatively short, so it can be performed after the blót has been performed.
This is a rite performed by one of our officiants. In the presence and guidance of the officiant, you undergo a rite in which you renounce previous confession of faith and affirm your true faith.
After the rite, there is the possibility of obtaining a certificate in which you confirm your faith Asatru with your name and the name of the officiant, with the approval of the community.
You do not need any prior knowledge to perform the rite as the officiant will guide you through it.
What you need to arrange before the rite is a piece of jewellery or other significant item to bring with you to the rite, the officiant will keep this item in custody during the rite, and will be returned after the rite has been performed.
You must also be 16 years old to make this decision to undergo the rite yourself, otherwise the authorisation of the guardian is required.

The fee goes in full to the local blót kindred, the cost goes to finance their activities.
The certificate that is available on site if you wish
has a cost of SEK 60 which then falls to the community.
Should you wish to perform this rite in a private context, we can arrange it, but there will be additional costs for hiring an officiant and travel expenses.

In addition to ceremonies for different life stages, we offer other kinds of services such as counselling for our members and help with getting names etc. translated into runes.
COUNSELLING SUPPORT
We are here to support you in situations that are heavy or difficult for you. But we will also be here for you to share the happy moments in your life. We all need someone to talk to in confidence, and we are here for you.
NAS/NAC counselling support gives you a personal contact with one of our elected representatives, where you can share your innermost feelings or thoughts. All of our calls and emails are confidential.
In order for us to offer you support, we need to initiate a dialogue via email in the first instance so that we can respond to you in the best possible way, and book a time for a conversation if you wish. You also need to provide your membership number so that we can handle your case.
The elected representatives who work with counselling support do this in their spare time without remuneration, which means that we will get back to you as soon as possible, depending on our circumstances.
We do not claim to be professional counsellors or psychologists, in case of our limitations we will refer you to get the help you need and we are there to support you in that work.
