We get to meet Leif – a heathen young man who lives in a small village where peace and joy prevail. The people live in harmony with nature and each other. All this changes, however, when two returnees come to the countryside after living for several years on the other side of the world. They have fifty warriors with them. Together they are a fanatical Christian brotherhood, which will soon be called “the bearers of the cross” by the people. A cultural struggle arises and the conflict is inevitable. The village will never be the same again. We get a different picture of how the Nordic countries became Christian.
